I loved the Japanese-style room with comfortable futons. The hotel provided a great buffet style breakfast and dinner which met my expectations. The hotel's location was convenient and easily accessible, with a bus stop opposite the hotel and only a five-minute walk to a winter light festival location. Moreover, the hotel had a fantastic onsen experience with a superb public bath area separating male and female.
Nothing to complain about at all.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The location was perfect for exploring the local attractions nearby, and it was so convenient to be able to walk to Sapporo downtown. Plus, being near the bridge provided a beautiful view. The service and housekeeping were top-notch, and I especially appreciated the free shuttle service. The welcome drink was a nice touch too. The room amenities were excellent, with everything I needed from heating to an in-room safe. The towels and free toiletries were a nice touch, and I enjoyed relaxing and watching TV in the flat-screen TV.
I highly recommend this hotel to all!

We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of our room at Hotel Shikanoyu. The traditional Japanese decor created a cozy atmosphere. The hotel facilities were abundant, offering everything from karaoke to a relaxing onsen. We especially enjoyed the high-quality massage chairs in the onsen lounge. Despite some language barriers with the staff, they were friendly and accommodating. The free shuttle service to Sapporo was also a convenient perk. I would recommend this hotel for a traditional and enjoyable stay.

This traditional hotel boasts both hot springs and friendly staff. Rooms range from traditional tatami to western beds and offer great canal views from higher floors. the accommodating staff will even change your meal preference if needed. There's also a free shuttle to and from NHK building and a sister hotel nearby that offers shopping opportunities. the 24-hour onsen is perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.
The hotel may be aging a bit and could use some updating.

the buffet spread was varied but lacked quality, and the shuttle bus timings were disappointing. the hotel is located in a remote and dull area, so there's nothing to do outside. the room for four people was large and comfortable, allowing us to move around without feeling cramped. the hot spring's serene atmosphere made for a relaxing experience. the staff members were friendly and helpful, providing us with DVDs to watch in the room.
the food quality was subpar and lacked flavor, which was a letdown.
